The Desktop Overview:
The Desktop is the main screen area that you see after you turn on your Computer.The Desktop includes the Task-bar which sits at the bottom of your screen.Task-bar also contains the Start Button which you can use to access programs, folders and Computer settings.Working with Desktop Icons.If you want easy access from the desktop to your favorite files or programs, you can create shortcuts to them.
Over view of the Start menu:
Start porgrams, open commonly used folders, search for files, folders and porgrams, adjust computer settings, get help with the windos operating system, turn off the computer,log off from windows or switch to a different user account.
Over view of the Taskbar:
The taskbar is the long horizontal bar at the bottom of your screen.It has three main sections.The Start button, which opens the Start Menu.
The middle section, which shows you which programs and files you have open and allows you to quickly switch between them.Third is notification area, which includes a clock and icons that communicate the status of certain programs and computer settings.
Over view of Desktop Gadgets:
Windows contain mini-programs called Gadgets, which offer information at a glance and provide easy access to frequently used tools.For example, you can use gadgets to display picture slide show or weather.
Getting Started with Paint:
Paint is a feature in Windows that you can use to draw, color and edit pictures.
Working with windows:
Whenever you open a program, file or folder, it appears on your screen in a box or frame called a window.
Snipping Tool :
You can use Snipping Tool to capture any object on your screen.
Free form snip: Draw a free form shape around an object, Rectangular snip:Drag the cursor aruond an object to form a rectangle.Window snip: Select a window, such as browser window or dialog box, that you want to capture.Full screen snip:Capture the entire screen.
